Is there a right way to show the skin?

backdress

Just like everything else in fashion, there’s a right and wrong way to do things—and that involves showing the skin. Sure, there are times when you feel like showing a lot of it is the only way to go, but it also pays to give away just the right amount to leave some of the rest to the imagination.

It’s called skin strategy and you should know how it’s being done.

One off-shoulder dresses/tops

This style combines femininity with sheer sexiness, so make sure you have one or two of these in your closet to throw on when the need calls for it.

Leg Show Down

May it be a short skirt, dress, or a tiny mini, your legs will surely get the attention that it needs when you combine this with a somewhat ‘modest’ shirt or top with 3-quarter sleeves.

Backless back turner

Showing your back off isn’t just a sign of elegance, it also shows how comfortable you are in your skin. But choose wearing a backless dress carefully, to keep on the mystery. The length of the dress should be full on both the arms and the legs—if your aim is to show off your back and you wouldn’t want anything else in your body to steal the attention.

There is nothing wrong with being proud of your skin, but there’s something beautiful about keeping it simple as well. So always remember these tips. You’ll look radiant, no doubt.

Fashion Colors

colors

One of the hardest things to do when picking out an outfit for the day is choosing the colors that would match. It comes especially harder since people have now become bolder with their everyday ensenble  choices—and it’s either they look totally great or a big flop in the fashion department.

So here are a few things for you to remember so you don’t become the latter. It’s not so hard once you get used to it. Life is full of risks—and that includes choosing a color scheme.

Know what your Neutral Colors are

They are black, white, brown, navy, and grey.

Combining these neutrals with one color: Safe and Risk free

Combine two of these neutrals with one bold color so you won’t have to worry about clashes.

For example: Blue top, black jeans, grey coat.

Sounds simple enough eh?

Adding more colors

Don’t be afraid. Breathe. It’s not so hard as it seems. For example, you can wear your yellow shirt with your pink scarf, but make sure that you add a neutral shade to your outfit, like a navy skirt or black jeans.

You can also try a purple jacket worn over a royal blue top, then grey slacks. Simple, and not too complicated at all.

Use your imagination. And don’t take it too seriously. Remember, fashion is always about fun. There is nothing wrong with making sure you look good, but if it’s taking too long for you to decide and it’s already draining the energy out of you first thing in the morning, choose something safe. Choose the one-pop-of-color scheme or just wear neutrals from head to foot.

No sense in tearing your hair out over it.

The Adidas Stan Smith Shoes

adidas

Here’s something that would blend perfectly well with the Spring season: The Stan Smith sneakers by Adidas!

More than 4 decades since it was launched in 1973, the Stan Smith shoe (named after Stanley Roger Smith, the tennis champion) has already sold over thirty million pairs.

In fact, it’s the best selling tennis sneakers of all time. And four decades since 1973, it’s still considered as one of the most coveted pair of sneakers in the world today.

Without a doubt, the design of the Stan Smith sneakers is plain simple. Why, some people would even consider it as plain. But its plainness could be the one why celebrities like Pharell keep wearing them in the first place.

Instead of Adidas’ signature stripes, what the Stan Smith shoes have on the side are 3 rows of perforated holes. Why? We may never know. But one thing still remains, it looks HOT!

Which is what makes it the perfect pair of shoes to wear whatever you decide to wear on this spring. It’s minimalist design is just right, and it’s uber-comfy too.

But are you thinking of buying one for yourself? Sorry, you can’t. They’re all sold out since January.

For the lucky ones who were able to snag a piece though—you are in so much luck. The 90′s fashion is back and the white sneaks are a hip essential to the casual spring outfit. Wear it with jean, a skirt of any length, a funky top, the right accessories, and you’re ready to go out into the world.

How to wear a skirt

skirt

Ladies, the mini skirt may be the perfect way to show off those legs of yours, but that doesn’t mean there’s only one way to wear it.

The thing about fashion is that it’s fun, and that there’s always something new to do. And as long as you be careful with mixing and matching, everything’s going to turn out fine.

So here are a few new ways to wear a miniskirt. Flaunt it ladies!

Choose a Mini Skirt that’s Boldly Printed

Of course you can pull it off! But to make the pattern on your skirt pop a little more, stick to a plain white or black cropped top and sandals.

Skater Skirts

Yes, the skater skirt is one of the hottest items this season, and wearing them could make one feel too vulnerable… If you know what I mean. So wear boy short undies underneath it, and match the skirt with chunky pieces like boots and a thick sweater. That’ll complete your look.

Velvet Skirts

When you’re feeling feminine but still want to stick to something casual, wearing a plain velvet skirt with a top and sandals is safe enough to make you still look chic.

Crop Tops and Minis

Yep. They go together like shamalamala doompidinkidong, but it takes guts to pull ‘em off. Remember, you don’t really need to have an ubber toned tummy, though it helps a little. But if you think you can wear ‘em, then go for it!

So here’s your style of the day folks. There are tons more ways to wear the mini, so be adventurous! Life’s too short!

4 Ways To Rock Your Spring Outfits

spring3

It’s official! Spring is here! It’s time to shove your winter clothes all the way at the very back of your closet, fashionista ladies. It’s time to get kickin’ with this season’s coolest spring outfits!

But hold on. Have you already given your closet a once over? Do you have everything you need in there? You probably do—because you always do. But just in case there are a few missing pieces, you can always go shopping, can’t you?

But that isn’t really the problem with this year’s spring fashion. Like we said, you probably already have everything you need in there, no need for a revamp. It’s the mixing and matching that could be the problem, and we’re here to help!

Cut Off Jeans

A pair of cut off jeans are always delicious. You don’t even need accessories, because you’re going to make your legs the center of attraction here. It hardly matters what you pair your cut off jeans with, but a nice tee would do, and a trench coat with a solid color would make you look chic even if you’re just running errands.

Lightwight Dress

We know. It’s not summer yet, but that doesn’t mean we can’t find ways for you to make use of ‘em. Wear a braided square cut sweater over it, and finish with a nice pair of sandals. Picture perfect!

Bright Colored Coat

A bright colored coat can go places with you, and you’re always going to look goooorgeous in it—as long as you know what to pair it with. For example, a plain top, skinny jeans in a lighter wash, and an equally bright-colored pair of shoes.

Now you got some pretty good ideas, it’s time to test them out for yourself. Be ready to make heads turn!

“Why couldn’t I have been taller?”

maxi

You asked yourself as you tried on another outfit for the Nth time.

There, there. You’ve been asking yourself the same question since the day you discovered you’re born fashionably chic. There’s really nothing you can do about that. And unless a new discovery happens that would instantly make you grow a couple of inches taller overnight, we suggest that you accept the truth about your height.

That doesn’t mean you can’t try a few fashion tricks that would make you instantly taller though. In fact, we have a few right here for you. Read on!

Go Long

Ladies, maxi skirts and dresses can be your best friend. Just choose ones that are solid in color, and make sure that you’re looking fitted at the top. How do you do that? By tucking your shirt in, or wearing a cropped top or jacket. That would instantly elongate your body and make you look taller.

Go Short

If you want to appear taller, remember that your legs are your accessory. They don’t even need to be the slimmest, most well-shaped legs in the world. You just need to know how to work it. So no matter how short your legs are, if you must wear a pair of shorts or a short skirt, make sure that it’s short, like a mini skirt. Avoid anything knee or calf-length. That would instantly ruin the illusion.

Go Vertical

You all probably know this, but vertical stripes make you appear longer and slimmer. So when you go out shopping, look for dresses that have vertical lines designed on them for a change. Enough with the horizontal!

There you go girls. Three of the best ways on how you can seem taller than you are. And remember, whatever you’re wearing, be sure to rock it—that always adds to you looking good.

The OOTD

ootd

It may seem like the OOTD (Read: Outfit of the day) is being done in an awful bad taste but the truth is, it’s pretty harmless. And if you’re into fashion and you have one of those days wherein you’re just really loving what you’re seeing in the mirror—no problemo: Whip out your phone, take a snap, and share it!

An Unfair Advantage

There used to be a time when the only ones allowed to do OOTDs were the models in fashion magazines. But it all seemed so scripted. We all know the ensemble was put together by a team of fashion experts.

But everything’s different now. The OOTD has broken off of its shackles—making it free for all. Now you can tell the world how you’re rockin’ that outfit. But do you know how to do an OOTD properly?

How to do an OOTD

Take the photo against a plain backdrop – There can’t be too much going on in the background, otherwise the attention would be drawn away from your outfit.

Take different angles of the outfit – Be creative with your shots, just like how models do it!

Take photos of every piece you’re wearing – Yes you can, and make sure you give a little background of where you bought it!

Take it Outside – Make sure you get plenty of natural light when you take your OOTDs! That way the photo’s going to look sharp.

Take a Full Length Shot –Front and Back – So your audience can see everything from head to foot!

There you go ladies, the best tips to taking your OOTD. All you need now is a little bit of practice. Before long you’ll be doing it like a pro!

Fashion Faux Pas: To Err Is Human, To Love Fashion Is Divine

10-fashion-faux-pas-a-eviter

Fashion is always about style and grace and everything pretty and fluttery. But sometimes, no matter how hard we try, we still make fashion mistakes.

That’s alright, we are humans after all. And if celebrities and models can make one fashion faux pas after another, so can we right?

But just to be sure you don’t do it too often, here are a few things you need to remember when trying on ensembles. Keep reading to find out what they are.

Muffin Top

You’ve seen it all before: Someone wears a pair of jeans that are too skinny. They bend over and—there it is! The unsightly butt cleavage. UGH!

Girls (and guys), always make sure that your jeans fit you perfectly. It’s beyond embarrassing to be seen with your muffin top hanging out. And if you’re one of those few people who have unfortunately shown theirs to the public, please apologize to them. You don’t want them to end up with sleepless nights now, do you?

Buy Clothes That Are Your Size

It’s the golden rule, isn’t it? When you shop for clothes, you make sure you try on different sizes just so you can be sure that it fits you. If you’re small, buy small sizes. If you’re big, buy the size that’s just right for you. Pieces that are too big would make you look bigger than you already are, and if you get the smaller size, you won’t just be comfortable, you’ll look like the Michelin man.

Dress Your Age

Need we say more? If you’re 40 years old, would you wear anything kids these days are wearing? Of course not. So dress your age, don’t try too hard to look young. You’ll thank yourself for giving up on that, trust us.

Simple rules that every woman should remember. So don’t ever make the mistake of doing these!
