Just because they look good on celebrities and supermodels don’t mean those heels are going to look good on you too. There are a few things you need to know before you buy heels—so you can guarantee that you won’t only be wearing them on those rare formal occasions when there is almost no chance you’ll be walking more than 5 feet, you’ll be able to wear them comfortably as well. Keep reading to find out what these tips are.

The Proper Fit

We know this is probably a ‘DUH’ moment, but a lot of women buy shoes that are at least half a size too small for their feet but don’t mind because “it’s too pretty!”

Well. Let me tell you that your shoe size changes each and every time you gain weight—so make sure you measure your feet before you go shoe shopping so you won’t be indulging them in a lifetime of blisters.

Consider Shoe Inserts

Your feet need all the support it can get, so if you can give it to them, why won’t you right? It’s not as if you won’t feel anything if it’s already starting to throb.

Choose Wider Heels

For the love of balance, please choose square toe box heels. Unless you consider yourself the queen of it all, then you can have pin heels, if that would make you happy. (Just always be careful though)

These are just a few things you should consider when shopping for high heels. Remember, not everything is about looking good. It’s also about making sure you’ll still be able to walk properly when you’re seventy years old.
